E-invoicing in Belgium: the dates, and what they change for your cash

Since 1 January 2026, VAT-registered companies in Belgium must send each other structured e-invoices, through the Peppol network. Here are the dates and the fines, from the official sources, and what they mean for getting paid.

What it means for your cash

The mandate changes how invoices travel, not when your customers pay. Payment terms and late payment stay as they are.

Between companies in Belgium, a customer who pays late owes 10.50% a year from 1 July to 31 December 2026 (Law of 2 August 2002, art. 5). Calculate what a late customer owes you

An invoice that arrives as a structured file is faster to check, and checking is what a funder needs before it pays an invoice early.

What Advanta reads today

Advanta reads UBL / Peppol e-invoices and CSV or Excel from any program; 16 formats in total. Advanta is not a Peppol access point: your invoices keep travelling through yours. To be financed, an invoice must state its due date.
